Peaches was dumped at a local peach produce stand with her babies. Her babies were all given away, but no one claimed Peaches. Peaches is a sweet momma who is looking for the chance to be someone’s baby! Sadly, it appears that Peaches has been bred over and over again. Her teeth are ground down either from trying desperately to get out of a fenced area or free from a chain. This pretty girl is an absolute sweetheart who will roll over for belly rubs and love. She has done well with elementary-aged volunteers at the shelter. Sweet, silly Peachy girl absolutely loves toys, especially stuffies, and enjoys playing and cuddling her stuffies. Peaches is heartworm positive and needs lifesaving treatment. Peaches is in need of an adopter or foster/rescue to begin treatment.

Timmy entered the shelter after being seized by Animal Control with three other dogs, chained and extremely underweight. Now that he’s gained healthy weight, this handsome boy is ready for a home of his own. Let us be clear— Timmy is stunning! His beautiful brindle markings frame his eyes giving him a really striking face. Timmy is incredibly smart and picks up learning new commands quickly. Not only is he smart, but he also has a cute, playful side as well. He loves to play with stuffies. Overall, Timmy is curious, loves to explore, and is super well behaved. He’d love a human to take him hiking or running so he can see more of the world after surviving on a chain for so long.

Snoop was surrendered with Tip, who has left for rescue. He has longing eyes that wish for more. The shelter environment is hard on him and he shows signs of stress sitting in his kennel for long periods of time surrounded by other dogs and noise. He is an absolute sweetheart, especially away from the noise of the shelter. Snoop enjoys walks, runs, and cuddling and would love a home that will allow him to get his energy out. He has a special “Nemo” ear that makes him even more unique and we love him for it! On Snoop’s recent shelter day break, we learned the following: Snoop rides great in the car and didn’t get sick after being fed a few special treats. He did really well walking around Lowe’s full of people, but he marked a couple times inside the store. In parking lots, he barks at various cars driving by. Snoop waits very patiently for his treats, can catch EVERY treat thrown, and does not beg for human food. If you reach across him and into his space, he just licks your face :).

Scooby has the best smile and wagging tail when he’s waiting to go outside for the day. This strong boy takes treats gently and becomes a pile of mush for some chin scratches. He is eager to please and goofy as can be. He tested well with females and wanted to play. He respects space and takes correction well both from dogs and humans.

Milkdud is just as scrumptious as he sounds! This handsome boy is friendly, affectionate, and an absolute sweetheart. He loves attention and happily cuddles up close for chin scratchies and kisses. Penelope and Pixie are new residents who were seized by Animal Control due to neglect and deplorable living conditions. The girls were in an enclosure together and are now being kenneled together. They are a bonded pair so must remain together. Penelope is sweet girl who is rightfully scared but has been very brave. Penelope is less timid than her sister Pixie and her personality is coming out more daily. Pixie is very timid and follows her sister Penelope everywhere; she’s her security blanket. As we learn more about these sweet darlings’ personalities and temperaments, we’ll update their bio.

Lucy was surrendered by her owner with inflamed, irritated skin and missing fur in patches all over her back and legs. Despite being uncomfortable, this girl remained gentle, sweet and playful. She has not healed and ready to find her forever home. She loves going on walks and playing with toys. Lucy is happy at all times and will turn your day around as soon as she greets you. Tofu was found as a stray. He is low energy, often found napping in his kennel. He may need slow intros with males or be retested after neuter. He had no interest in cats. He is excellent on leash. He does like to walk up against you which may be him herding or maybe he just loves people. He is vocal like a typical Husky who likes to talk to you.

Charlie was owner-surrendered due to no fault of his own when a new family member was added. He is UTD on vaccinations. All interactions with dogs have been positive. Charlie loves to run and play with toys. He is great on leash and loves to explore. He is medium-high energy and would love to be in a home where he gets to play and exercise.

Boyo returned to us at no fault of his own. He was a resident at ACAS for many months before being rescued. That didn’t work out, so he is looking for his forever home. He has improved a lot while he was away. He walks well on leash, he LOVES to zoomie, even if it’s only for a couple feet while on a walk. He’s so silly and enjoys tug-of-war. It’s his favorite thing. He also leans in for pets once he trusts you a little bit.

Burr is a newer intake. What we have learned so far is that he is super sweet, he loves pets, and takes treats gently. He doesn’t seem interested in other dogs or cats while on leash. He turns to his handler, sits and waits for treats. Burr enjoys cuddles and will lay his front paws on your lap if you let him. He is not so sure about toys yet and he walks well on leash.

Fido is friendly with female dogs so far and very friendly with humans. He loves to adventure even though he’s still unsure about walking on a leash. His leash stays loose the entire walk. He doesn’t react to other dogs while on leash. He is still learning how to be a dog and seems like he will pick it up quickly!

While he looks healthy and not emaciated, we know he didn’t experience any love from humans before arriving at our shelter. He has probably had to fight for everything he did have while living in an outbuilding down the street from his guardian. At this time, Jackson is recommended for an only dog home.
